The King of the Desert (The First Adventure)(click)
In the First Kippernickker Adventure, The King of the Desert, (The series platform story) Jonathan, Nicholas, Sarah and Matthew Kippernickker discover a secret code, a silver key, and a hidden trap-door in their garden vines. The trapdoor leads them down a flight of stairs and along a passageway with many doors. Opening one, they find themselves in a desert and become involved in a fight between two sworn enemies, the King of the Desert, and the Sultan of the Sun. It is Sarah’s golf ball which is brings about their reconciliation and the problem happily solved.
Professor Pigglepoggle (The Second Adventure)(click)
The Second Kippernickker Adventure, second trip leads them to a village where all the children have been ‘pigglepoggled’ by Professor Pigglepoggle’s experiments. Some have beards, others have been turned into ducks. As Nicolas is wearing his roller blades people think he too has been pigglepoggled, with wheels instead of feet. While he escapes, the other children are captured by the Beadle (policeman) and taken to be pigglepoggled, but after various adventures the professor, with the children’s help, manage to return everyone to normal.
Captain Cannonball (The Third Adventure)(click)
In the Third Adventure, the Kippernickker’s find a bottle in their swimming pool with a message from Cuthbert the cabin boy, a prisoner on a pirate ship called ‘The Mandrake’. Using the trapdoor under the vines they soon find themselves face to face with the horrible Captain Cannonball. But how do they rescue Cuthbert? What about the Captain’s treasure map and the pirates? Who walks the plank? And how does Jonathan turn into a ghost? After exciting twists and turns, the children find the treasure and the Captain and Cuthbert become friends.
Prince Rupert’s Birthday (The Fourth Adventure)(click)
In the Fourth Kippernickker Adventure, Nicolas, Jonathan, Sarah and Matthew find themselves in Merry England, many years ago, and unexpectedly meet the young Prince Rupert who is the same age as Jonathan and looks exactly like him. They are so alike in fact, that Prince Rupert suggests they change places for a day, because it’s his birthday and he says he’d rather have the day off than open presents, and besides, Jonathan can keep the presents. So they change, but things are not what they seem and Jonathan is led into another harrowing adventure.

The Great Lion Hunt (The Fifth Adventure)(click)
In the Fifth Kippernickker Adventure, when Matthew returns from an adventure on his own he tells Nicolas, Jonathan and Sarah he has been to ‘Fricka’ and they must come back with him and help capture the lion that is taking all the cattle in the village. The Kippernickker’s use their adventure key and eventually meet Matthew’s friend Kimau and they all set to work building a trap for the ferocious lion. But the African adventure twists and turns until Sarah makes a great observation and her discovery leads to the problem being strangely solved.
Great Uncle Oliver’s Code (The Sixth Adventure)(click)
In the Sixth Adventure, Great Uncle Oliver’s Code, the Kippernickker’s find themselves in a strange house identical to Sarah’s doll’s house. They are shown a mysterious code by Amanda, a girl Jonathan’s age, who is trying to solve the mystery left by her Great Uncle Oliver who hid in the house a fortune in diamonds. Amanda’s guardian, Miss Creaklestick (not all she seems) is also trying to find the diamonds but gets the code wrong. Matthew finds the diamonds and Miss Creaklestick escapes on her bike when Amanda’s real guardian appears.
The Giant of Grumm (The Seventh Adventure)(click)
In the Seventh Adventure, Nicolas, Jonathan, Sarah and Matthew Kippernickker use their Adventure key and visit the village of Grumm, where a sign says, ‘All are Welcome except Giants’. This is because in a castle on a hill next to the village there lives the terrible Giant of Grumm. Once again the Kippernickker’s are called to help. When Major Murdle’s four man army fail in their attempt to capture the giant, the Kippernickker’s think of a plan. Using a large wooden sausage on wheels from a parade, they cleverly get into the castle where the giant is not very pleased. However, all is not what it seems . . .
The Kippernickker Kid (The Eighth Adventure)(click)
In the Eighth Kippernickker Adventure, Nicolas, Jonathan, Sarah and Matthew once again use their Adventure Key and find themselves in the wild west town of Honkytonk, where Donnegan and his gang have taken over. After some exciting adventures Jonathan finds himself made a Deputy Sheriff and is called the Kippernickker Kid. So, he and the others, set out to somehow free the town of Donnegan. With Matthew being dressed up as a Red Indian and with the help of some Gold Nuggets candy, read what happens when finally Donnegan challenges the Kippernickker Kid to a game of cards to decide who will rule the town!
Marmaduke’s Magic Show (The Ninth Adventure)(click)
In the Ninth Kippernickker Adventure, Nicolas, Jonathan, Sarah and Matthew go through the trapdoor hidden in their garden vines and come to a door labeled ‘Abracadabra’. Going through they find themselves in a palace and meet the great Marmaduke, the King’s famous magician. But Marmaduke is upset because his magic is somehow going all wrong and the King is getting annoyed. So the Kippernickker’s set about helping him find out why. Is someone spoiling the tricks? Who are the twins Hocus and Pocus? What is Matthew doing in a secret tunnel? And finally. how do Jonathan’s own thought-reading cards put everything right and recover the King’s treasure!
The Secret of the Eggs (the Tenth Adventure)(click)
In the tenth Kippernickker Adventure Nicolas, Jonathan, Sarah and Matthew find a strange wooden egg hidden among the hard boiled eggs they had painted for Easter. They found the egg screwed apart and inside where two letters written on a scrap of paper. They guessed this was a clue to be investigated. So they opened the trapdoor in the garden vines and began another adventure, discovering there were actually six eggs, each with a clue to finding Princess Dorothea’s missing Royal treasure. The Kippernickker Adventures
The Kippernickker Adventures stories are children’s chapter books for grades 2 to 5, and there are ten books in the series, the first nine adventures now being available in print, CD, or as an audiobook. Each story is about 10,000 words, 80 pages in eight chapters, and the audio books and CD’s run for 60 minutes.
The stories are about four children in the Kippernickker family. Nicolas (8.1/2), Jonathan (7.1/2), Sarah (5), and Matthew (4). One afternoon they discover a mysterious trapdoor hidden under the vines which cover part of their large back garden. This trapdoor opens up to them a series of remarkable adventures, the first nine of which are available to read or listen to and enjoy.
